Where to Dance Salsa & Bachata in Bangkok

Bangkok's Latin dance scene is one of the most welcoming in Asia — expat-anchored but increasingly Thai, with a warm community vibe that makes visiting dancers feel at home immediately. The action is concentrated in the Sukhumvit corridor between Nana and Asok BTS stations, where you can walk between venues in minutes. Bachata is the fastest-growing style and now rivals salsa as the dominant scene; kizomba has two dedicated weekly nights. Bangkok also hosts some of Southeast Asia's biggest Latin festivals, including the 19-year-old Salsa Bangkok Fiesta and the Thailand Latin Extravaganza.

Sukhumvit Soi 11–15 (Nana / Asok)

the heart of the scene

The stretch of Sukhumvit between Soi 11 and Soi 15 — walkable from BTS Nana and BTS Asok — is where most of Bangkok's Latin dance action happens. Havana Social, Hemingway's, and the Bangkok Bachata Gang studio are all within a few minutes of each other. On Sundays, Bachata Fever at the Paradox Hotel on Soi 15 draws 170+ dancers and is the week's highlight.

🕐 Sun · 8 PM – midnight💳 250–400 THB incl. workshops + 1 drink

Bangkok's biggest weekly Latin social with 170+ regular dancers. Two free beginner/open-level workshops 8–9 PM before the social. Rooftop bar with Bangkok skyline views. Organised by Social Dance Bangkok and Bangkok Bachata Gang — the city's two main Latin dance groups.

🕐 Mon · 8 PM – 1 AM💳 150–450 THB depending on class/party option

One of Bangkok's longest-running Monday Latin nights (10+ years). Class 8–9 PM with rotating instructors, then social to 1 AM. Ample floor space, mix of locals and visiting dancers.

Salsa
🕐 Sun · 7:30 PM – 1 AM (Salsa Sundays) · Open daily from 6 PM💳 No cover or ~300 THB incl. 1 drink

1940s Cuban speakeasy aesthetic — the best Latin music atmosphere in Bangkok. Hidden behind a vintage phone booth on Soi 11. Smart casual required: collared shirts for men, no sportswear or backpacks. Salsa is the primary style here.

Thonglor (Sukhumvit Soi 55)

upscale crowd, rooftop vibes

Thonglor is Bangkok's trendiest neighbourhood — upscale bars, good restaurants, and a slightly more dressed-up crowd. Assembly Point on the 8th-floor hotel rooftop runs Tuesday Latin nights with a decent floor, though space can fill up quickly. One BTS stop from Nana, easy to combine with a Sukhumvit Soi 11 venue night.

🕐 Tue · 8:15 PM – 12:30 AM💳 360 THB incl. class + party · 260 THB party only

Class 8:15–9:15 PM with DJ Chan from 9:15 PM. Rooftop hotel setting — arrive early as floor space is limited. Slightly upscale crowd; more of a bar-with-dancing than a dedicated dance floor.

Silom & Surrounds

kizomba and afrokiz nights

The Silom area — Bangkok's financial district by day — has a couple of dedicated kizomba and afrokiz nights that attract a more focused dance crowd. PIN.BKK's Thursday Kizomba Connection nights draw organisers from across the scene.

Tips for visitors

  • 🚇Stay near BTS Nana or Asok — almost every Latin dance venue is walkable or one stop away. After midnight on weekends, use Grab instead of taxis: cheaper, no negotiating, works in English.
  • 🌡️ Bangkok is genuinely hot and humid year-round (28–35°C, high humidity at night). Bring a breathable second shirt — most dancers change mid-night. Thin synthetic fabrics over cotton.
  • ☀️Sunday is the best night. Radicle starts free at 6 PM, Bachata Fever at Paradox kicks off at 8 PM, and Havana Social runs Salsa Sundays — you can hit all three venues in one evening along Sukhumvit.
  • 💵Prices are very affordable by global standards — 250–360 THB (~USD 7–10) typically covers a class and social with one drink. Bring cash from an ATM on Sukhumvit; most venues also accept cards.
  • 🎉Bangkok hosts major annual festivals: Thailand Latin Extravaganza (January), Salsa Bachata Temptation Asia (September), and the 19-year-old Salsa Bangkok Fiesta (November). Check dates before you book flights.
