Where to Dance Salsa & Bachata in Hanoi

Hanoi's Latin dance scene punches well above the city's size, built almost entirely by Vietnamese dancers who discovered salsa and bachata in the 2010s and never looked back. The action is concentrated in studio-based social nights in the Ba Dinh and Dong Da districts — not nightclubs, but dedicated dance floors running class-to-social format on weeknights and weekends. Hanoi is also home to the Vietnam International Latin Festival, one of the biggest Latin congresses in Southeast Asia.

Ba Dinh

the Latin heartland

The political district of Hanoi — anchored by Truc Bach Lake and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum — is also home to the city's two most established Latin studios. Both Beso Latino and Spring Salsa are housed high in mid-rise office buildings, lifting dancers above the street chaos into dedicated floors with proper dance floors, mirrors, and AC.

Dong Da / Van Mieu

rising scene, strong bachata identity

The residential Dong Da district, just south of Ba Dinh, is where Latin Soul Hanoi operates — a younger studio with a strong Afro-Latin and bachata focus. The dance crowd here skews younger and the energy on Friday nights runs the latest in the city.

SalsaBachataKizomba
🕐 Mon (Bachata) 9:30 PM – 12:30 AM · Fri (Afro-Latin) 9:30 PM – 1 AM💳 70,000 VND incl. 1 drink

The most bachata-heavy studio in Hanoi, with a young and technically strong local community. Monday music rotation: 2 bachata – 1 salsa – 2 bachata – 1 kizomba. Friday Afro-Latin Night runs the latest in the city. Cheapest entry of the main venues.

Tips for visitors

  • 📱Book via Facebook or Instagram before you arrive — all three studios post schedules there first and some nights require pre-registration.
  • 🚗Use Grab (not taxis) to reach the studios. Show the driver the Vietnamese address from Google Maps. Fares from the Old Quarter: 50,000–80,000 VND.
  • 🕐Arrive for the class, stay for the social. Classes run 6:15–8:30 PM; socials begin 9–9:30 PM. The floor is warm by 9:30 PM.
  • 💃LA style (On1) is the local default. Bachata sensual and urban are both danced. If you dance On2 or Cuban, you will find partners — just be ready to adapt.
  • 🎉March is the best time to visit: the Vietnam International Latin Festival (last weekend of March) draws 50+ international artists and 60+ hours of workshops. Book accommodation early.
